Graduated from IUP with a bachelor’s degree in criminology in 1987 before entering the PA State Police Academy. He was then stationed at Franklin Pennsylvania State Police in Venango County, PA. David retired from the PA State Police in 2013 after working as a state trooper for 26 years. During his time with the State Police, David worked on emergency response plans for school districts within his station’s jurisdiction, advised on security measures to be implemented by the state police on their facilities, investigated crimes as a criminal investigator, worked on a major crimes team, and worked as both a field training officer and a patrol officer. He also spent much time in local schools teaching and as a school resource officer.
Upon retiring from the State Police, he worked for three years at Burgettstown School District in Washington County, PA, where he helped develop a School Police Department there. He retired from law enforcement in 2016 and began to work for the Arc of PA using his skills as an observer to support job development for persons with intellectual disabilities. He did this for three years until 2020.
In December of 2021 he was hired to be the director of security at Geneva College. David desires to improve the College’s security by upgrading existing measures and adding steps to provide a safe environment for all in the Geneva College community to flourish.
As a Christian who is saved by God’s immeasurable grace and mercy, and having benefitted from this grace and mercy, he serves his community guided by this mindset. All are welcome to seek him out for assistance in any way that he can provide.
